As with our in-person training, it is vital that everyone feels comfortable to share, contribute and ask questions within this workspace as well. For that reason we’ve developed the following guidelines and agreements to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
Be real – People want to interact with real and authentic individuals so be yourself, be open and honest and express your real views and questions. As with in-person courses, pretend situations don’t allow people to learn in the real world.
Aim for respectful, constructive conversations – Constructive feedback and debate is vital to the learning process, but offered without respect diminishes the environment and opportunities. Therefore, respect and consideration need to be the hallmarks of this community.
Be relevant – Everyone is here for the purposes of exploring coaching skills, perspectives and applications. Keep your posts on-topic and relevant to the content areas in which you’re interacting. Our administrators will reserve the right to remove off-topic or inappropriate comments and posts at their discretion in order to keep the conversation relevant.
Respect confidentiality and privacy – This workspace should be a safe space for people to share their thoughts and questions. When interacting, be mindful of others privacy and keep what they share confidential. Also be mindful of your own interactions and only share or interact at the level you’re comfortable with.
Use common sense and sound judgement – Refrain from comments that can be interpreted as slurs, demeaning, defamatory, inflammatory, etc.
Be safe – Use a strong password. Keep your personal contact details, username and password secure and do not share them.
Workspace agreements:
- Be responsible for your own learning
- Use beginner’s mind – let go of your ‘expertise’
- Practice non-judgement
- Give yourself and others permission to make mistakes.
- Ensure confidentiality – what is shared in the workspace stays in the workspace
- Be curious
- Support other people in their learning
- Engage in dialogue
- Have fun!
